Since its 2011 launch, the Yas Drag Racing Academy has been turning motorsports enthusiasts into professional drag racers. The program fuels the need for a world-class drag training school in the Middle East, as the popularity of motorsports and drag racing competitions increases regionally. The Yas Drag Racing Academy is one of only two NHRA-sanctioned drag racing schools in the world offering professional certification. This means anyone that passes our program can compete in drag racing competitions internationally! The Yas Drag Racing Academy runs throughout the week with around 4 to 6 students per session.

What You Get: Theory & Practical

Two days of classes (10 hours total): In-Class & In-Car – suit-up on the first day! Over the course of a weekend, Yas Drag Racing Academy chief instructor and Top Fuel driver Hot Rod Fuller will take you through the essentials of drag racing.

• Day One focuses on theory, with discussions on the anatomy of the drag racing car from transmission to steering wheel and parachute. By the end of Day One, you’ll be suited up and seated in the race car getting a hang of gauges and the switch panel! You’ll also do a drag racing Blindfold Test that will challenge your knowledge before you get the keys to the engine.
   

• Day Two is all in-car. Following a briefing on the previous day’s lesson, you’ll be belted into a SuperComp dragster for your turn behind the wheel. The package includes 6 runs between 60m and 305m, and 2 runs at 402m. Most students have to do more than this number, which is an additional fee. After completing the final 2 flawless runs of 402m, you’ll receive your official NHRA license.
