Organisers of the Formula 1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Launch Major Public Awareness Campaign

Abu Dhabi Motorsport Management, the organizers of the Formula 1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, today launched a multi-media public service campaign to maximize race-goers awareness of the travel and transport arrangements that are in place over the race weekend.

“Ensuring that everyone is able to get to and from the track is a shared responsibility across many public and private organizations. We would like to thank all of those partners, and on behalf of the partners we urge the race going public to take the time and plan their day. There are numerous ways to get to Yas Marina Circuit, and we ask that you think about what way will best suit you,” said Richard Cregan, CEO of Yas Marina Circuit.

The campaign’s objective is to provide spectators with information to help them plan their day to ensure a safe and enjoyable Grand Prix experience. The advertising will direct consumers to the two primary sources of information: The Yas Marina Circuit website ( and 24-hour hotline (800-F1).

Double page advertisements will appear daily in Arabic (Il Ittihad, Emarat Al Youm, Al Khaleej) and English (The National, Gulf News) newspapers.

Radio advertisements during peak drive times on seven radio stations across the UAE will direct listeners to the website and toll free number.

The online campaign is as varied as banners appearing on Facebook and Time Out Abu Dhabi. It is estimated that the campaign will reach approximately 88 per cent of the UAE population.

 Don’t leave home without your ticket - no ticket, no entry

 If you have not received your tickets via courier please go to the Ticket Office, located at the new Etihad Airways Headquarters building, before attempting to access Yas Island

 Speed limits throughout the Emirates will continued to be strictly enforced during the period of the event.
 To make the journey as enjoyable as possible, spectators are encouraged to use the free shuttle bus service from all Park and Ride locations – Marina Mall, Zayed Sports City and Shahama.
 The free shuttle bus service will bring spectators from the Park and Ride locations directly
to the Grandstands, every 20 minutes
 All inbound taxis will terminate at the Park and Ride locations.

 Limited car parking is provided at the ratio of one car parking space for every three tickets
purchased. So, one, two or three tickets, entitles the ticket holder to one car space. Four,
five or six tickets will include two car parking spaces.

 The car parking permits are distributed with your tickets. The colour of the permit is the
same as your car park. So a RED permit allows the holder to park in the RED car park. It’s
that simple. Once there, staff will show you where to park.

 Depending on the car park, one can either walk or catch a shuttle bus for the short journey
to the Grandstand. There are many shuttle buses and they will run throughout the day.

 There are several modes of transport around Yas Marina Circuit and Yas Island: You can
walk, take the shuttle bus service or take the Circuit Circular, which will operate
continuously around the circuit.

 If you are parked remotely from the circuit, shuttle buses are provided. Follow the signs to
the shuttle bus pick up point and use the stop for your Grandstand.

 On Thursday, a special service will operate between car parks and the Main Grandstand
bus station for the Pit Lane Walk, which starts at 2:00pm.

 All Grandstands have full access for mobility impaired customers, including car parking and
lifts. Specific areas have been designed to ensure that our mobility impaired guests enjoy
as much of the action as possible.

 On departure, shuttle buses will take patrons back to Shahama, Zayed Sports City or Marina Mall where taxis will be available. A limited number of taxis will also be waiting at the Purple car park at Gateway South car park, starting from 2pm each day.
