Rounds 3 and 4 of the Yas Racing Series, which includes the grand finale of the TRD 86 Cup’s sophomore season, promises yet another full-on weekend of local and international racing at Yas Marina Circuit.

On Friday 15th and Saturday 16th April, the UAE’s motor sport fans will be able to enjoy two days of track action that will see the beat-the-clock excitement of UAE Time Attack – a dynamic race series that sees production-based sports cars compete for the fastest single lap – as well as the return of the Ferrari ME Cup and Ferrari Challenge Asia – Pacific series.

The final fifth and sixth rounds of the TRD 86 Cup is also back on track and will see the man to beat, Karim Al Azhari, try and clinch the top spot and defend his TRD 86 Cup championship title for a second season. However, Dubai resident, Al Azhari, will have some tough competition with the likes of Shihab Al Faheem and Mohammed Abdul Ghaffar going all out to beat his points stranglehold in a last-ditch effort to unseat him.

Also joining the grid of the TRD 86 Cup at Yas Marina Circuit this weekend will be former rally champion Umair Ahmed Khan.  The 36-year-old originally from Pakistan has a solid 15 years of racing experience behind him and his racing highlights include the Dunlop Barcelona 24 hours and the ADAC Zurich 24 hours among many others.

“We are in a good place going into this weekend’s racing,” said defending champion Karim Al Azhari. “We’re in a strong position after wins in the last few races and I am excited to be back at Yas Marina Circuit for the 2015-2016 decider.”

We have seen some very strong and exciting racing this season and I am sure this weekend will be no different, with a variety of races on offer that should appeal to all visitors. I would encourage all motor sport fans to join us at Yas Marina Circuit for what promises to be a fantastic closer to what has been a great season of local, regional and international motor sport events.”
