Rift, Drag and get dirty with FIA WorldRX
This three-day Urban Festival includes two support races: Yas Super Street Challenge – Drag racing, Monster Energy Emirates Drift Championship, before the inaugural FIA World Rallycross of Abu Dhabi 2019 headlines the racing action.
FIA World Rallycross of Abu Dhabi 5 & 6 April
Taking place of first time ever in the UAE & Middle East, FIA WORLD RALLYCROSS OF ABU DHABI will be opening round of 2019 FIA World Rallycross Championship.
15 teams and 17 drivers will take on the 1.2km AbuDhabiRX track for the first time over Free Practice, Qualification, Semi-Final and Final.
Knock Out Format:
Free Practice – all 17x drivers
Qualification (x4 rounds) – 5x drivers on track over 4x laps
Semi-final – top 12x drivers, 2x races over 6x laps
Final – top 6x drivers, 1x race over 6x laps
Reigning FIA European Rallycross Champion Reinis Nitiss will make his debut for the GRX team in the first round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship at Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi, World RX’s first night race.
Latvia’s Nitiss will join permanent GRX Taneco drivers Niclas Gronholm and Timur Timerzyanov in the first of his selected rounds this season, entered as GRX SET in a third Hyundai i20 Supercar. Nitiss joined his new team mates at the circuit’s launch recently. “I'm really looking forward to competing in the Hyundai i20 for the first time. Combined with the all-new Yas Marina RX track the season opener will be a great and exciting challenge, especially as the first night race,” he explained.
The entry list for round one of the FIA World Rallycross Championship has been released by the FIA today (March 11). A TBA on the permanent entry list of six two-car teams and 16 drivers announced last week, Norway’s Pal Try will join Latvia’s Janis Baumanis by racing the second new Ford Fiesta for Team STARD.
The Abu Dhabi night race will see the semi-finals held as night falls over the Yas Marina circuit, and the final held in the dark, under lights at the famous Formula 1 circuit, for World RX’s first visit to the Middle East.
Yas Super Street Challenge 4 & 5 April
Yas Super Street Challenge brings you drag racing in its raw form with over 50 cars competing, 5 categories of racing and cash prizes for the taking. From the streets to the strip, watch cars going head to head in a test of skill and speed.

Monster Energy Emirates Drift Championship 5 & 6 April
One-off championship will give a regional flavour to an international motor racing weekend, with drivers from the UAE, Oman and Saudi Arabia and other countries burning rubber to fight for the title at Yas Marina Circuit.
The popular championship features some of the most powerful stock chassis cars in existence, with most cars running between 500bhp to 1,000bhp and modified with roll cages and include a variety of engine sizes from naturally aspirated V8s to turbo-charged super blocks.
Knock-out format competition with 20 drivers.
