F3 ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIP AND F4 UAE FORMED PART OF THE EVENT AT YAS MARINA CIRCUIT

BOTH HAMDA AND AMNA AL QUBAISI WERE COMPETING FOR ABU DHABI RACING

Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi, UAE, February 10, 2021: Hamda Al Qubaisi secured her second victory of this year’s Formula 4 UAE Championship as part of Yas Racing Series Round 2, which took place at Yas Marina Circuit.

The home of the FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX hosted competitive race action once again as a number of talented drivers went up against each other in both F4 UAE and the Formula 3 Asian Championship which featured Hamda’s sister, Amna Al Qubaisi.

The fourth and penultimate round of F4 UAE didn’t disappoint, with four entertaining races, the first of which saw Cram Durango’s Enzo Trulli finish ahead of Xcel Motorsports duo Kirill Smal and Pepe Marti, who were second and third respectively.

Abu Dhabi Racing’s Hamda Al Qubaisi performed well in Race 2 and finished fourth, with victory going to Marti.

It was in Race 3 that Al Qubaisi produced her most impressive performance of the round, driving consistently throughout to finish ahead of Dilano Van’t Hoff, recording an overall time of 25:42.023 and securing her second victory of this year’s F4 UAE Championship.

The fourth race was won by Jamie Day, from Xcel Motorsports, ahead of the final round of F4 UAE which takes place on 11-13 February.

Abu Dhabi Racing top the Teams’ Championship in the F3 Asian Championship following a Double Header of race action at Yas Marina Circuit, with Rounds 2 and 3 held over consecutive days.

It was the performance of China’s Guanyu Zhou, who secured three podium finishes in round three, which ensured Abu Dhabi Racing remain in first position ahead of Mumbai Falcons and Pinnacle Motorsport, although there is plenty at stake with two further rounds of racing still to take place.

In the Drivers’ Championship, Pinnacle Motorsport’s Pierre-Louis Chovet, who recorded two commanding victories in Round 3, currently occupies top spot, 10 points ahead of Mumbai Falcons’ Jehan Daruvala, with Zhou a further five points behind in third place.

Yas Marina Circuit will host the conclusion of the F3 Asian Championship as part of Yas Racing Series Round 3, which also includes Asia Le Mans, on February 18-20.
