TEST YOUR RUNNING AND CYCLING ABILITIES IN TRAINYAS RAMADAN CHALLENGE

Participants can virtually compete in a different running or cycling challenge each week

There are separate categories for men and women, with this week’s focus on cycling

Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi, May 3, 2020: The TrainYAS Ramadan Challenge is taking place throughout the Holy Month, giving people of all abilities the opportunity to stay fit, healthy and active while testing themselves virtually across the disciplines of running and cycling.

In partnership with Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Daman, the Challenge takes place on a weekly basis and is an extension of the Run @ TrainYAS and Cycle @ TrainYAS events which, under normal circumstances, would take place at Yas Marina Circuit on the first Tuesday of every month. A slightly adapted version is now in place for Ramadan.

The Challenge will alternate between running and cycling on a weekly basis, with competitors having between Sunday and Tuesday to complete each specific task. The first challenge, a commitment to a 2.5K, 5K or 10K run, took place last week with big numbers participating.

The virtual challenges allow competitors to take part any time and anywhere, whether that’s in your lounge, garden or somewhere else entirely.

This week, it’s a Cycle @ TrainYAS challenge, with competitors challenged to simply complete as many laps as possible.

Competitors can register via the following link - https://www.yasmarinacircuit.com/en/healthandfitness/run-trainyas Once registered, connect either your Strava or Fitbit account.

If you choose to automatically sync your results, once you've registered and connected your chosen device, when you complete your challenge it will be added to the leaderboard. Simply record your effort as you normally would and it will be shared once you save it.

Participants wishing to submit results manually should indicate this during registration, and you will then be emailed a link through which you can upload your results. You will then be able to download your Participation Certificate.

By completing the challenges, you will receive rewards points that can be used to redeem offers, discounts and competition entries through the Inspire Rewards Program. To be eligible for rewards you must opt in at inphota.com/rewards before attempting the challenge.

From Sunday May 10, the focus returns to running, and it’s all about producing the fastest time over a 2.5K, 5K or 10K distance.

The Challenge then concludes from Sunday May 17 with another cycling test as competitors are required to complete the fastest lap possible.

The TrainYAS Ramadan Challenge represents a fantastic way to keep fit and active during this period, as well as giving participants the opportunity to put their bodies to the test as they attempt to overcome a series of tough physical challenges.

TrainYAS is a community initiative aimed at promoting the benefits of health and fitness, as well as giving those involved the chance to run, cycle and stroll on an F1 track.

Partners of the event are National Ambulance, Abu Dhabi Cycling Club, Al Ain Water, SNO Dental, Department of Health and Haddins.
